The food, service and care was beyond excellent. Best food I've had in a very long time.
I have had the most amazing experience every time I go to Toma La. My husband is Portuguese and I’ve been to the island of Sao Miguel and ate the authentic tastes of the island. When I went there I was completely in awe eating the meal that brought me back to the Azores. Everything you order is amazing, I have been there many many times whether it be eating in their cozy restaurant or grabbing take out. We are so very happy to have found Toma La and made it our favourite place to eat.
As a first time guest in the restaurant, I will owe the truth to tell that the meal was simple still full of flavours. Rice, potatoes and chicken were all well cooked and presented, yet not heavy on the stomach. The cappuccino at the end was well balanced as well; it did not taste neither heavily coffee or milk. Coming back? Definitely, yes! Edit: I came back twice again, and I was amazed by food. The stew they made last time made me feel like at home, very similar to what my family makes. Big thanks to that! Edit #2: I paid a visit again, and this place has yet to disappoint me; food was made as if it was from my mother’s kitchen
This restaurant was just something we found for lunch while passing though the city and it completely blew us away. Best was the Sardines. We also loved the Piri Piri wings and Pastel De Nata. The staff (who may have also been the owner) was really kind and generous. 10/10 would eat again if visiting Hamilton.
Had my 50th birthday lunch at Toma La and it was amazing. Food was delicious and the service staff Daniel was great. Super friendly and kind. Highly recommended and will be back soon. Drove 1.5hrs to try their restaurant.
Now these people know about customer care. I had the best server. The food here is delicious, filling and always freshly prepared. I’ll definitely be going back to get another taste of the Portuguese flavor. I highly recommend using them.
Had a celebration lunch for about 50 people. Was not sure a small take out restaurant could handle this. I was surprised in all categories. Food , service ,atmosphere were all excellent. This small restaurant managed this crowd with speed, professionalism... they rivaled the best large banquet centers I have been to.
We’ve ordered from Tomala for both work events and at home, and every single time the food has been absolutely amazing!!! It’s always incredibly fresh, with generous portions that never disappoint. The potatoes are out of this world—perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The rice and chicken are consistently delicious, and their piri piri sauce is hands-down my favorite in the city. Whether you're catering a meeting or just treating yourself at home, you can't go wrong with Tomala! Can't wait to eat there again!
